While a rising rival, China, assembles a space station, deploys a rover after an impressive landing on Mars, elbows back 5G efforts by pampered, burgeoning, monopolistic, gorge-crazy US communications companies, builds colossal domestic infrastructure projects, launches Asian and African economic efforts affecting three-quarters of known energy reserves, introduces a major driverless car program, & manages a world-leading wind-power effort, what is happening in the US?

After some eight years of Republican Mitch McConnell’s sabotage of and a slow-down of Obama’s efforts to stimulate a needed economic recovery left by eight years of the George W. Bush administration, another succeeding Republican administration came nearer to not only near-economic collapse but close to toppling the US democracy by force.

Now, even while Biden boldly plays catch-up with vital pent-up social and economic needs of the US, this without any Republican help — unless you count deceit and delay efforts, Trump and Republicans are intent on tearing down the last shreds of a democracy, even while Democrats try to rise out of the ashes of four years of a Trump’s dissipation of America’s monetary, moral, and institutional assets.

In spite of Republicans, in just one-hundred days of a new Democratic Joseph Biden administration, the United States is successfully digging out of a pandemic, spurred by a highly competent COVID-19 vaccination program and passage of a well-thought-out pandemic relief package. None of this came through Republican help, only attempts at obstruction.
By and by, Republicans have managed to interrupt periods of prostration before an orange idol located in the heathen land of Mar-a-Lago to try to delay and/or disrupt another investment program of help for Americans called infrastructure.

Republican plans continue toward dissolving our democracy and by no means building anything for the people. The focus is on efforts to halt non-white voting, hoping Trump isn’t imprisoned before the next midterm election. If Democrats happen to bypass all of the roadblocks in Republican states, the alternative plan is to throw out the election results and install Republicans by untouchable Republican legislators.
