What do you get when you mix three Southern ladies, entrepreneurial spirit, and vodka? Answer: Vixen Vodka.

Conceived out of North Fulton, GA, Vixen Vodka is sure to become a competitive company within the vodka industry for the sheer fact that it is the only vodka company geared towards marketing to other women. The company, started by three best friends, Lee Ann Snyder, Jenny Policky and Carrie King who met during a cross-fitters program, is revolutionary in its simplicity: a vodka company started by women for women.

Within the context of discussions about whether sexual media messages are empowering or dis-empowering to women, Vixen Vodka offers a non-exploitative way of expressing fun, powerful life energy. Vixen Vodka’s message is one of inspiration (“Strong is the new skinny”), as the trio touts the idea of embracing life full force without any regrets, blazing a path for other entrepreneurs. The process by which the vodka is made is even innovative: “corn-based, gluten-free, and distilled five times in glass in Colorado via Rocky Mountain Spring Water.” When combined, the ingredients add up to a pure, Class A vodka that goes down smooth without the after-burn.

As the company’s Facebook page, Drink Vixen Vodka, states, “Married, divorced, single, with children, no children, these ladies have been there, done that and then some. But together they have a common thread that holds them to each other – they’re Vixens.” So, what exactly is a Vixen? Well, the dictionary defines a vixen as a female fox or a sexually attractive woman, which, in a way, both definitions embody the spirit of Vixen Vodka. The company’s founders are a diverse group of smart and classy women with a sophisticated taste that gets translated over into their vodka.

Set to debut in December 2011, Vixen Vodka will launch more formerly in early 2012 to a liquor shelf near you.
